Linden Labs Changes Void or Open Space Sims

If your not familiar with void sims, previously they were 4 sims for the price of one, only these sims would share a server and you only received half the prims of a normal sim, divided among all 4.  What that worked out to was 4 sims with 1875 prims a piece, and these sims needed to be attached to an existing sim or anchor sim. Not great on prims, but they allowed a lot of privacy and space at a fraction of a full sim cost for renters.  Well LL just announced in the official blog that this is changing.  Now if you already own a sim, you can purchase a single void sim for $415usd and $75 a month.  These new sims don't need to be attached to an existing sim either.  Personally I like this new option.  It will allow me to expand my holdings quicker and be able to offer full free standing open space sims to renters that allow for a lot of freedom at a lower price. I ordered one "Nerdaronie and Cheese" to see how it works out and how easily they rent.

It is kinda cool. :-)

I'm not sure I'll use it, but it is definitely something worthwhile for estate owners.

It's like waiting for a bus

You wait for one new blog entry and three arrive at once!

I think this is a great development. I really want a new island but I might invest in these instead with the new changes and increase prims they offer better value.

I think it's a great idea.

I think it's a great idea. You get a bit lower performance and less prims than a normal full sim, but you get so much more space, privacy, and freedom.
