Children's Rights and You (CRY) Opens In Second Life

Children's Rights and You (CRY) in Second LifeBased on this article on CRY, I started digging around a bit until I found the original press release, CRY (Child Rights and You) now has an office in 'Second Life'...strengthening its global online community. From there, I got the SLUrl - Bombay (192,68,21).

I wandered around a bit and learned a few things about children's rights from the perspective of children themselves - which is rather refreshing after all the philanthropy/Non-profit/NGO stuff I read on a daily basis. Children are their best spokespeople, and the CRY presence within SecondLife is a tribute to that.

The build itself is Lego inspired - whether they know Lego's 50th birthday was a few days ago or not, I do not know, but the look and feel is definitely one that brings children to mind. A few details didn't work, like the teleporter, but as a flying penguin I had no trouble cruising up and taking a look around.

All in all, this is a pretty interesting build done by IndusGeeks (Zeus said nothing to me about this!) and has quite a bit of information on Children's rights. Always good to see good causes joining into the fray and trying to leverage technology to highlight a cause.

Its worth seeing. If you don't have the time, I have some pictures here you can look at here.
