Having a Siesta

Having a Siesta.
My hard drive had to be replaced a couple of weeks ago and since getting a new one now have decided for now anyways, not to install it. I read not long ago how Nobody Fugazi was happy about having backed up a lot of his files as he had gone through a similar experience. So remember everyone to back up those files because you just never know when your hard drive or whatever decides to do an 86 on your PC. I really hated seeing that Blue Screen when turning on the PC one day and learning that the hard drive was borked.

Do I miss being InWorld? No, what’s there to miss? I still read here every day and the other blogs as well, but I don’t read the forums much anymore since they no longer appear to be moderated. If the forums are not going to be moderated, it will just end up like reading, from people “5 short of a six pack” and that’s putting it very mildly. I always thought Strife needed to be more severe in moderating, so as they are now, forget it.

So wake me up if something new and exciting develops, because for now taking a hiatus from being Inworld. I will still be reading a lot of the blogs everyday (that’s always fun) and hope some new and exciting reasons appear to entice me back InWorld soon.

What you're missing

Well let's run through my weekend:

Hobbits arguing over the size of their builds and threatening to erect a hobbit version of the Berlin wall between plots.

Traffic in one of my shopping areas showing as 0.

Customers complaining of non-delivery of items.

Renters wanting more prims.

Search all not working and 503 errors galore.

As for the SL forums, hey Usagi is in fine form and having a whale of a time.

Being TP'd from club to party to club to party as people were demanding my presence in two places at once!

The point about backups, these days is with USB memory sticks so low priced, it's never been easier to backup your files...which reminds me, I better back them up!

Oh and now I'm reading that people wearing xcite willies will be revealing all to everyone who uses windlight, even when they're dressed. Apparently it's a bug!

Dude! Write about the Hobbitses!

That is just too cool! :-D

Busted HDD blues.

I feel for you man, I really do. But that hammock looks too comfy. Dunno if I'd login anywhere in a hammock.

I have a hammock. I never lied down on it while with the laptop. :-)

Well done.

Good on you AB..thus far you've not missed much other than the small hobbit rebellion that appears to be brewing with Ciaran's place and in Valimar. It is possible that the Hobbits are getting organized to stage a coup and then we will all have to stop shaving our feet.
