MIBank Depositors Have Small Victory

My new laptop with Windows Vista on it doesn't like the Second Life client, so I've been outworld a bit. Catching up right now...

Skip Oceanlane notecarded me inworld with this:

Immediate Press Release – Monday, November 26, 2007: In another victory for former Merlin’s Investment Bank (MIBank) depositors, the Ancapistan Capital (Stock) Exchange (ACE) today transferred a number of stock shares and Lindens to the care of Skip Oceanlane. These shares were originally purchased with funds from the now defunct bank, owned by Investor Merlin.

Skip Oceanlane, former Vice-President of MIBank, has been seizing former assets in an attempt to reimburse former MIBank depositors as much as possible. Locating the assets of land, stocks, and Lindens has been difficult, and obtaining ownership even more difficult, said Oceanlane.

The assets transferred today by ACE Chairman IntLibber Brautigan were as follows: 15,970 Lindens, 19,372 shares of BNT stock, and 4,542 shares of RIS stock. Once these shares have been sold, a complete list of total Lindens recovered after fees will be released to former depositors and the public.

“We are happy to support the resolution of these assets for the depositors”, said ACE Chairman IntLibber Brautigan. Skip Oceanlane said, “I wish to personally thank ACE Chairman Brautigan and everyone else at ACE who has been so helpful during this complicated situation. On behalf of all the depositors, we cannot thank you enough.”

Skip Oceanlane will be making a final report on all stock exchanges very soon. For information on this press release, please contact Skip Oceanlane.

It would seem that a sense of fairness is becoming more visible in the financial sector of Second Life. Any improvements along these lines are noteworthy, though are flawed by the framework which is provided.

Windows Vista?

Please stop using failed operating systems, my friend.

Scaredy Whatever

Dual boot ASAP...

I'm more of a penguin than anything, but I also have to stay attached to the reality of what people are using... Using Windows Vista every day isn't a technological statement, its a market statement.

Windows Vista, while flashy, is a little cumbersome in some regards. I'll be writing something up on KnowProSE.com in December about using it.
