Gambling Ban? What Gambling Ban?

Dice Rolled For MoneyRemember the gambling ban? Apparently, in backwoods Tao 1 (201,161,25) people didn't hear about it - particularly the members of the group Tao Heavy Industries. Thanks to a random tip, I dropped into a casino right under the noses of Linden Lab.

Like most developing nations, it would seem that laws are easy to make - but aren't so easy to enforce. How can Linden Lab police such a large area? Maybe by tracking transactions, but even that is doubtful. I suppose that this really falls to the community.

How many other casinos are in operation? How many people are not complaining?

But then - maybe these machines are compliant with Linden Lab policy, and I'm completely in the wrong. I'm not sticking my money in these prims - but other people are.

Did I file an abuse report? Maybe. Would you?

Sigh, again the rule

Sigh, again the rule is...

Bet > Randomize > Win/Loose that is there hard line....
What you have photographed does not fall under that.

I have worked very hard to get the place into compliance and honestly if its 4 machines that make so little money its not funny is causing you a fit, I can remove them. But you have larger targets to look at like loonie fox's SLC casino's which are still operating in full effect.

I'm not here to debate the points or the rules or the ban. I have confirmation from linden that the policy is real simple
Bet>randomize>Win/Loose is whats banned. The games I lay out are not in that structure.

I suggest before attempting to slander that you research.

Slander?

Hey, where's the slander?

What fit? I didn't have a fit.

And then just to be on the safe side 4 games were removed?

Anonymous posters accusing me of slander when the whole banning policy is quite open to translation. How does anyone know Linden Lab certified those games? Is there a little 'LL approved' stamp?

Slander. Hah! Perhaps you should consult with a lawyer before you accuse people of something which isn't true. Wait. Isn't that the definition of... ahhh. I got ya. :-)

In IM, Chaos Mu said...

that it was all in compliance.

Just to be on the safe side,

Just to be on the safe side, the 4 games in question "Dice Country Rollers" where removed.
The rest of the place is non random or skill based gaming.

No I wouldn't if only to

No I wouldn't if only to protest the fact that a bunch of prudes (the U.S. Government) has issue with gambling just because they think it's "immoral".

I wouldn't report it

I wouldn't report it gambling isn't wrong merely illegal. Let the people that made the rules enforce the rules.

Agreed.

I agree on letting the rule makers enforce their own rules. However, it is certainly entertaining to see who is willing to go a few extra steps to "loophole" them.

Everyone is after a

Everyone is after a loophole, but bottom line, LL is the law here. No matter how we view the games if LL feels that they are a violation they will enforce and ban without asking to hear the offenders argument or reasoning. If a person or company doesnt mind risking it all then so be it I guess. I personally wouldnt risk loss of my account for a few L.
