Slow news week

Apparently Catherine Linden isn't buried under a house with her Ruby slippers and stripey socks on display, she's still there and buying shoes, which is nice.

Winterfaire is coming, as reported on the blog. A few years ago the city I live in had winterval festival, 40 odd days of winter celebrations, it made the news as political correctness gone mad and a cancellation of Christmas. Those with sane mind and body who don't believe everything written in the Daily Mail saw it for what it was but a lie can be halfway around the world before the truth has had time to get its boots on.

Personally I am all in favour of the Linden's doing a performance of a Christmas Carol, it's so apt and fitting after the way they've acted recently. There would be no shortage of candidates of Scrooge or the Cratchit family.

Now openspaces, I'm sorry, but really, the private region pricing page. FFS put an asterisk there with an explanation that prices are going to go up. How hard is that to do? People are complaining about landlords not doing it, but the biggest landlord of them all won't do it. What's up with that?

My own plans for Winterfaire are to get drunk and flirt with as many ladies as avatarly possible. On Ronoc where we're opening a new cafe we're going to party like it's 1999. This can't be the case for the City of Dee where we'll have to party like it's 1599 instead. There's something about buxom barmaids don't you think? Maybe I should introduce some highwaymen there, however they will be all tied up in the Linden production of a Christmas Carol! (they're not making a production in case anyone is taking that seriously, although they should).

I think the Christmas period is good for the concepts of community, I'm all for community. I don't have a parliament on my sims because I prefer the role of evil dictator, but I very much support the concepts of community. Community is really where it should be at. There are some people who want to be alone but in general we want to intergrate.

Something that is bugging me lately is Linden Lab asking us what we're doing, we create and give them publicity. That's what we do, every content creator, landlord and tenant. Whatever your role, we create the world and here they come along and ask us for more promotion angles when there are umpteen out there already and when we ask for a little help, such as the heinous openspace increase we get a "No dice" response. Linden Lab need to work with us, not against us, you can't put a price on the amount of publicity we've given them.

I'm sure there are many of you who are fed up with the openspace issue, some of you need to go and listen to Jilted John but the vast majority just need to be aware that today it's openspace owners, who will it be tomorrow? Then they want free publicity from our efforts, it beggars belief it really does.
