WSE Trading halted

Whilst I await an update on the Openspace issue, and seriously there needs to be an update from Linden Lab becasue the new offer is no more acceptable than the first one. They have to take responsibility for this fiasco, their reputation is on the line. Anyway where was I, oh yes other stuff that isn't Openspace related. I give you WSE.

Here we go again. WSE is again in limbo and has announced today that there is a market trading halt pending an announcement on Sunday November 30th.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

A market trading halt has been placed on all WSE Listed Entities pending an important announcement.

The announcement will be released to the market on Sunday 30th November 2008.

This announcement follows some rather frantic activity yesterday when the following companies delisted:

Atlantis Land Corporation (ALC) has been delisted from the World Stock
Exchange due to a breach of the WSE Listing Rules and WSE Market Rules.

All shares will be converted to the WSE Traders Fund (WTF)

ALC will no longer be displayed on the WSE website.

Fund Virtual Shares (FVS) has been delisted from the World Stock Exchange.

The management of FVS requested to be delisted due to insolvency.

All shares in FVS will be converted to the WSE Traders Fund (WTF)

FVS will no longer be displayed on the WSE website.

Flying Kitten Holding (FKH) has been delisted from the World Stock
Exchange due to a breach of the WSE Listing Rules and WSE Market Rules.

All shares will be converted to the WSE Traders Fund (WTF)

FKH will no longer be displayed on the WSE website.

Real Life Investment Fund (RLX) has been delisted from the World Stock
Exchange due to a breach of the WSE Listing Rules and WSE Market Rules.

All shares will be converted to the WSE Traders Fund (WTF)

RLX will no longer be displayed on the WSE website.

So one company are insolvent, the others have breached rules and then we get the market closed. I'm not Konner McDonnell so I don't have inside feel to what's going on but it just seems like same old same old here.

I'd largely forgotten about WSE, I have a few shares held there because I couldn't be bothered to do anything about them when it was closed down for improvements first time around. I therefore have no clue whatsoever what this announcement will entail but I would hazard a guess that it won't be good news. Does anyone have any idea what's going on here?

Re: WSE Trading halted

About a month ago, Hope Capital went off the grid; the Hope Capital/WSE site vacated; I think this might've been around the time that SIM delisted and switched over to the ISE. My thought is that the WSE's halt on withdrawals for pre-Aug 1 users (most of his remaining userbase) went on for so long that the remaining companies just got tired of it and decided to delist over there. As most companies had already left the WSE, either by own decision (DDE) or because of Luke's purges, this left the WSE with only 4 companies besides its own. Given these companies haven't even posted any financial reports or news since September, I think it's safe to say that the remaining listings are dead.

Re: WSE Trading halted

Konner had shared some information with me two days ago via email:

Dear shareholders,

Dear Shareholders,

We plan to move to the ISE. I have
downloaded a current shareholder list. Please do no longer trade any
shares, so that the shareholder list will stay current. The WSE will
probably not give us a current list, so any trading could cause the
loss of shares.

Sorry very much for any inconveniences that may cause.

Yours Sincerely,

Hannibal Kennedy

CEO
Atlantis Land Corporation (ALC)

Then, in a subsequent email, he added:

Ten minutes ago, FVS joined the others. Could be a big night. I'd love
to kick back and watch the show, but my girlfriend wouldn't answered.
The sacrifices we make for those we love(don't tell her I used that
word)...

Fund Virtual Shares - FVS (Trade)

Date: November 08, 2008

Dear shareholders,

FVS has decided to delist immediately!
I just did send an email to the WSE Concierge Service.

Main reason: All companies FVS has shares in are NOT trading at WSE any more.

I have the list of my shareholders which was taken at exactly 4:16PM PST on the 7th November 2008.

PLEASE do NOT trade in FVS anymore.
Any trade will NOT affect the current shareholderslist.

In Second Life I will invite you to the group "Fund Virtual Stocks" (If your not already in).
Please accept the invitation.

FVS doesn't understand why companies are still listeded at the WSE.
Why don't they take responsability for there shareholders.

If you have questions feel free to contact me in-world
Kind regards, (CEO Fund Virtual Shares)

So, yeah, Konner knew about it - and he's probably doing some digging though it seems as apparent to me as the nose on my face that LukeConnell Vandeverre is up to the same tricks.

Re: WSE Trading halted

I wouldn't say digging necessarily. Where SL is concerned, I've mostly been focusing on the MECH meeting tomorrow and subsequent re-launch on Tuesday. But I'm certainly keeping my eye on the WSE.

I have my theories on what he's up to. Most seem convinced that he's closed shop and it's done. That's probably because they're tired of him/it and want to move on. I can certainly appreciate that. The WSE closing wouldn't bother me in the least, but I'll believe it when I see it.

When I think of the editing wars that have been occurring on the WSE Wikipedia page, it reminds me that Luke Connell has alot to lose if/when it goes down. The internet always remembers.
