I lease an open space sim from Thai. He is one of my dearest friends and I can say that proudly. Today when I logged on to SL I received this note card from him:
`Hello Friends .
I have been asked by a majority of people who rent sims from me to give some idea or indication of what my future plans are or will be concerning the mess that Linden Labs has created by using scare tactics to try and force through a rise of 67% in tier to open space sims.
It is one of the most stupidest descions I have ever seen Lindens make and yes they have made some very bad choices.
So where does this leave us all in these times of uncertainty. ?
I am involved with several groups that are raising protests and possible legal action against LL . This could be a long drawn out process leaving us even more unsure or un certain of the outcome . However i am of the belief Lindens will come to there senses and make some moderate changes to what was proposed . Again I am only guessing but thats my gut feel .
Where do this leave you all as my tennants ?
I am going to take the High Ground here with all this and due to the fact a lot of you have hung in there with me and not run off like wild zombies into the night ,.
Ok friends here is my proposal .. for now ."ANYONE RENTING A SIM OR PART SIM THERE OFF FROM ME I WILL GUARANTEE THERE WILL BE NO PRICE RISES IF ANY AT ALL UNTIL AT THE EARLIEST FEB1ST 2009 "
Meaning for now and over xmas etc regardless of what Lindens say or what they do your Safe for at least one more month.
I do not know of any other Landlord thats got the balls to do this other then me . Then again Racer Group had always strived to take care of its valued clients
I will review the situation by mid jan 2009 and make a call for future months .

Thai owns 60 open space sims. 3 Cheers for Thai. If you are looking to lease a sim, talk to either Thai or Sarah Nerd. They are birds of a feather.

Thai is good people! I have only great things to say about him. He's smart, funny, kind, generous, you name it! Meeting him this year at the SLCC was one of my highlights of the entire year. Can't wait to see him again next year. That guy knows how to have a good time.

Very nice and it's good to see an estate owner taking time to reassure residents....now if they'd just do something about that copybotter I've received notecards about!

This land-flipper recently bought my sim, tore up the streets, and sold it off for profit 3 weeks later. After he collected tier from a bunch of people, he sold 8 or so sims, leaving people who had been there for over a year out of luck.
I was warned when he first bought the land, and I should have listened. Watch out for Thai Racer.
learn your facts
You failed t o mention the reason why he bought 'your' sim is because the owner of Cybertopia Estates was booted from SL for non payment and 'your' sim was about to be shut off. Then you would have lost EVERYTHING.
No one was left 'out of luck' except from Cybertopia Estates.
Thai came in, saved the sim, turned it into a region that wasn't losing money hand over fist and resold it because he got nothing but complaints from the very people who's properties he saved from the OFF button.
if you want land that is 'yours', buy mainland.

If you care about ur sim, why sell it to Thai in the first place. He paid money for your precious sim, and now it's his, NOT YOURS NOR ANYONE ON THE SIM. Let him cut it up and make a profit from his sim, NOT YOURS YOU NOOB.
