I've been screwing around with mainland for a long time. Three years this month on the 21st to be exact, and sl years seem to be something like dog years. But over my time I'd like to think I created my own style for the way I deal land. As far as I know I was the first person who started listing land on the bottom of the list with my logan SARAH NERD BUYS LAND. Prok said once at one of her discussions that she knew I was the first to start using that slogan. And using profiles to show your current quote price per meter, that was my original idea that I see others using now. But anyways today I got really bored and there were not many pieces of land listed at 4.0L per meter. 6 or 7 lots I think. So I bought everything on the list that was 512 or bigger that was listed at 4.0 so I could reprice at 4.1. Yes I know I will make next to nothing with that massive mark up, but doing that I get my name and slogan near list top so hopefully people think of me when they go to sell there land or when they need to buy. Using the mainland listings to advertise is pretty common now, and so is listing land as "SO AND SO BUYS LAND". It used to bug the hell out of me, but now I see it as flattering that I had any impact on the way mainland is dealt, even if it's just in that small way. But anyways I bought the land and set my landmachine.com settings to sell land in a specific catagory at 4.055 thinking it would show on the listings at 4.1. I guess I was wrong. They still showed at 4.0 and repriced one at exactly what I paid for it which upset someone that was using the land for a "SO AND SO BUYS LAND" lot. They got the impression I was just being competitive and stealing there ad and it wasn't my intention. And I understand the feeling, it's the one I used to get when people started to copy my I BUY LAND style of listing. I feel a bit bad now because when they messaged me to tell me "hi Sarah, I have never bought one of your ad lots and just repriced it :((", I got a little cocky and said well I was the first to use the slogan "I BUY LAND". But anyways if I ever did this to anyone else it was never my intention to cause harm. I'm competitive yes, but I try to keep on good terms with mainland dealers I see on a day to day basis and that I know are good respectable land dealers. I don't really have a point here I just felt like sharing my experience and what better place than my personal blog.

Well, it's all fair.
It's part of the business. Part of sales, especially like mainland, is the gimmick and creating a long term memory with buyers. You do that well. Whether you did it first or last doesn't matter... what matters is who does it best.
And you do seem to do it best. You NIN freak, you. :P
