Freeze All Assets of Intlibber Brautigan?
This petition is for someone - I believe Linden Lab - to freeze Intlibber Brautigan's account due to, broadly speaking, alleged crimes against virtuality. Or something like that. I honestly don't want to make of it. I think Intlibber Brautigan has made some shady and even poor business decisions, but I don't know how signing a petition will do anything about it. It's sort of like WSE Live being closed for 3 months with people unable to access their funds.
People put themselves in bad situations.
At this time, 10 people have signed the petition:
We are people of and who were affected by Intlibber Brautigan due to his stunts of slander, threats, lies and harassment. Also, his actions have caused over 8,000,000$L+ in total loss for a lot of people in Second Life. His blatant action of finger pointing on innocent people, slandering, and using excuses for his own failure has to stop. His actions have violated 2 bans by linden lab and have violated countless SL TOS standards. Linden Labs, please freeze all assets Intlibber Brautigan has to prevent further cause of harm from this person.
I'm not signing it. Frankly, if he violated TOS then abuse reports should be filed. It is unclear which parts of the Terms of Service that Intlibber Brautigan allegedly broke. There really isn't anything in the Terms of Service about slander, threats, lies and harassment - all of which he stands accused of by those that sign the petition.
I'll just file this one under 'weird'.

This is hilarious, the signers are almost all people who have vandalized, slandered, defrauded, threatened, harassed, griefed, extorted, or blackmailed BNT at some point in the past (oh and Montana Corleone was banned from BNT sims for pedophilic sexual ageplay over a year ago, Maldavius Figtree destroyed several sims of BNTs, LeoTheo Bing frauded ACE and blackmailed it for money, and Anonymous is likely BNT's former VP of IT who trashed their server with her incompetence, and of course, Arthur Burma is the guy who was supposed to be launching his class action lawsuit on March 28th against BNT.... hmmm that fizzled too).
Its funny, the crooks who get all butthurt when you prevent them from committing their acts then act like you're the bad guy for stopping them or exposing them.

But it does demonstrate a tone. The same tone was apparent right before Ginko Financial went down. WSE is about in the same tone.
Now all of what you've written, thrall-of-Int, is all well and good. The rhetoric is fine and dandy. But let's face facts: ACE is on the way out because of itself, not because of anything anyone else has done. Yes, I said it. Ancapistan Exchange is on the way out. It may stay on life support for a while, but it does definitely deem to be brain dead, or close enough to it to confuse a standard EEG.

Dunno. There are a trail of people who could probably swear enough affidavits to cause a courtroom to be a fire hazard. I wasn't involved, I don't deal with Intlibber Brautigan and I'm quite happy that way.
I haven't gotten screwed by anyone in a long time. Makes me wonder if I'm just not sexy anymore... :P

But all of those standards are as subjective as the Linden Lab employee interpreting them. They aren't consistent, they most certainly aren't dependable, and they are all notably vague.

These petitions show up all the time, mostly in my inbox, and they're all rather pointless. If LL determined Intlibber Brautigan was violating the terms of service, what would happen? They'd either A) kill his account or B) give him time to amend or cease whatever practice he was violating. What they wouldn't do is demand that he return everyone's money. So if that's what you want, find another means. If you want "justice," then you picked the wrong world to live in. Soz.
This idea that LL represents the legal interests of its users is rather absurd. Do you know why LL banned gambling? Because of the Safe Port Act and it's attached Unlawful Internet Gambling Act. Yes, you live in Zanzibar, but LL is in Cali. I'll note that various internet gambling establishes across the globe refused US players. Not all, of course. While the debate in congress focused around censoring versus protecting (i.e. children's access to gambling versus Rep. Barney Frank's argument that it impeded on civil liberties), I'll leave it to you. Point? LL was covering THEIR asses. Same holds for the Banking ban. People suggest Luke Connell was tipped off by someone at LL. Seems every bit as reasonable that LL was tipped off or warned.
Here's an interesting one from the TOS: 7.1 Governing Law. This Agreement and the relationship between you and Linden Lab shall be governed in all respects by the laws of the State of California without regard to conflict of law principles or the United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods.
Play with that. Back to studying I go.

Great petition!
Speaking as Number 9 on that petition I would like highlight to anyone reading this that we are not stirring trouble and that Intlibber Brautigan really is a unscrupulous character who will cheat you out of your money and disable your account without a moments thought.
The problem is, I think he pays a lot of tier and therefore recieves special treatment by LL - otherwise I suspect he would have been booted months ago. He's like a cross between a landed feudal lord and a dodgy used car salesman, and his recent behaviour in ACE ANCAPEX has been disgusting. I think we need to smoke him out of Secondlife.
