Opensim hosts its first live music event
The Sine Wave Company and Deepthink sponsored singer songwriter Antigone
performing live in OpenSim during the 2008 Virtual Worlds Conference in
New York.
OpenSim is a completely opensource virtual world platform available for
download.
The event was hosted on Deepthink's servers and the audio was streamed
live from Antigone's studio in London.
The audience logged in using the regular Second Life browser to see the show.
"This represents a landmark in the development of open standards for
virtual worlds." Commented Rohan Freeman, CEO of Sine Wave Company.
"I was impressed with the server infrastructure and how well it scaled.
OpenSim is now proving itself as a mature platform for live virtual world
events and we will be doing more stuff soon!" Commented Adam Frisby, CTO
of Sine Wave Company and Executive Director of Deepthink.
