An Answer To The Second Life Community On Trademarks?
According to Harper, Linden Lab is supposed to publish an answer to the blogger request for clarification originally made by Gwyneth. At this time, there's nothing there yet.
This seems to have come as a big surprise for Linden Lab. I don't know why.
You change the rules all of a sudden from what the community was permitted to do, you should expect there to be some serious questions.
And for the life of me, I don't know why people have to email their press contact to get a response when they have a perfectly good blog.

Well
I wouldn't say they weren't expecting questions, indeed I've sent them questions and received replies.
At Robin's office hour on Tuesday she was expecting a barrage of questions, they weren't forthcoming and Robin herself raised the issue. Office hours of course only generally attract a small amount of residents so they aren't the ideal platform but there wasn't a sense of a burning desire for clarification.
They have setup an email address for contacting them regarding these issues.
As for the blog, it's just not well managed which is a shame. The relatively small amount of posts that can be posted there makes discussion difficult and the fact that they don't remove pingbacks means spaces get wasted.
They should in light of yet another overnight policy change take a leaf out of Livejournal's book who have setup a new community blog to create an open dialogue with their user base to discuss plans and share information about progress. This doesn't mean Livejournal won't make unpopular decisions, indeed they recently made one regarding basic accounts not being able to be created without carrying adverts.
