Lillie Yifu directed me over to the Second Life Wiki today. I have been there before, but it seems to be pretty good, though a bit out of date. I would encourage everyone to go out there, add themselves, places of interest etc.

A good documentation of the history of SL is strongly needed, and while people/places and things come and go, to be able to see the change is an excellent thing :)
