Lindsay Druart Speaks Out On WSE, Confirms Rumors With Transcript Quotes

In Why L&L Corporation Has Severed Ties with WSE, Lindsay Druart shares her views on WSE as well as some interesting insider information that I had heard rumors about but had no real proof.

But she alludes to something even more interesting:

...Considering WSE closed VERY shortly before the banking ban without any prior notice, I was puzzled as Luke had shared information about WSE happenings before but this time was different. Once the banking ban initiated, Luke Connell was quite elated to the fall of the SL banking industry which I found very odd. At that point, it all made sense. Luke Connell was tipped off. I speculate that Linden Labs received a subpoena for account information in relation to the Midas depositor’s case. Per Luke Connell, the lawyer planned to pursue the case whether there was a loosing chance or not to get the public eye on virtual business and create his name in the press for it...

The subpoena was the missing piece for me, and in discussion with quite a few people it seemed apparent that there probably was some legal footwork going on. If this is true, I wish Midas Commons the best of luck in any court case against the WSE.

The pieces fit. Almost. The trouble is that if LukeConnell Vandeverre was tipped off and did know about the banking ban in advance, it doesn't seem to mean anything in light of a court case - I'll wait for a lawyer to comment, but it seems to me that anything that happened prior to the banking ban by Linden Lab is pretty much unchallenged. It just gives Linden Lab some credibility if they are named, at least from what I can see. Perhaps Benjamin Duranske will chime in...

And honestly, I don't see why LukeConnell would be elated. If all these pieces fit, that puts exchanges on the ban list soon as well. Everyone wants to play a lawyer on the Internet - but no one really wants to be the precedent. Especially Linden Lab. So they protect their interests, and they name the community when they need them.

I'm pretty sure that there is more to it than this, but... we can only speculate. Both Linden Lab and the WSE are not well known for transparency. I don't expect that to change in the near future.
