Not one of your finer moments.....

....whilst i respect your efforts in championing the cause of banning the use of Land Bots, which i'm 100% in agreement with, this was by no means your finest hour!!

I've known Perfumed Odets for quite some time now and i only can say the undertone or what you're trying to depict of said person is way off base.!!!

I won't bore you, with how thoughtful, caring, helpful and honest Perfumed Odets is as a person, as i'm sure that's not what you want to see on your blog.....although that is very much the case!

Amongst other things, I'm landlord myself owning several sims to which i either rent or sell plots to a number of SL residents. Luckily i haven't encountered these type of rental problems before.

I was aware right from the beginning of these day to day events concerning this group, I was aware that Perfumed eventually checked up on this group and found they had previously rented plots of land only to default on payment ....be it bouncing e-checks or non-payments. You have to ask yourself why does a group like this keep having to re-locate.....that in itself should raise questions!

I was aware of the non-reply of IM's by County Beautmont whilst online and the repeated requests for payment. The fact of the matter is that County Beaumont entered this agreement stating she was the owner of this particular group, who knowingly had no available funds to pay for the advance rent of 1/2 SIM land.It was only day 3 that an associate or group member stepped into pay the rent on her behalf.

I also heard of all the trouble, liberties and rudeness that certain members were causing on that sim. It had become a real headache for Perfumed Odets. I knew they put off other would be potential "buyers" and "renters" too.

And NO.....i wasn't one of her advisors that told her to ban the group out and keep the money ...before you imply that!

Lets check the facts out and evaluate who were the real losers here. For one we have owner of Group entering a rental agreement knowing full well she had no means of honouring the payment. She had none to give! That at best is deception and dishonest from day 1.
After day 3, she still had not paid, luckily someone else from the group stepped in and paid.

Did this Group really lose out in a monetary sense?
Hell no, because during their brief tenture.....this motley group managed to either rent or sell plots to half a dozen people and collect money for it. The chances are that this same Group actually profited from their illegal transactions!!
Being of renter status only, they clearly breached the Covenant by sub-renting or selling off land which they had no entitlement over.

In Perfumed Odets research into this group it was found they had previously rented elsewhere ....again moving onto land before Landlord was paid, the promise of an e-check clearing from a different member of the group this time......but leaving before payment was cleared, and not before renting/selling lands on a SIM which they were not entitled to do.

So to answer my own question....why does this Group seem to hop from one place to another?....draw your own conclusions.
Being the pessimistic type of person I am....i'd go as far as saying this was a deliberate & calculated game plan.

Back to winners & losers.....
Well Perfumed collected 75k for sure, in the process she had land now rented or sold to 3rd parties, which renders that land unuseable for awhile, although there's always the "Reclaim" button!!

The fact is....and I know this well, Perfumed offered these ripped off 3rd parties to stay on the land for the month. Some decided to leave regardless and find a homes elsewhere...which is understandable as it would leave a bitter taste in my mouth had i been conned in such a manner!
As it stands 1 of those victims has been given a free 4096sq/m plot of land to live on for a month.

This is not the action of an Estate Owner who is greedy and money hungry....but one that is compassionate and understanding. Yes, we've all heard the horror stories of some of the practices from unscrupltous Estate Owners. Rest assured Perfumed Odets is not one of those!

Yes, PO recieved 75K, but this is partially offset by providing free land for a period to 1/2 3rd parties and the same offer to those other victims. Had they all decided to stay, there would not have been any monetary gain at all.

The real losers in this whole episode are those 3rd parties that either bought or rented land from a bunch of Con merchants....and they are the ones we should feel sorry for.

All i can say Sarah, as a EstateOwner myself and with a fair number of my own residents too.....had I encountered a similar situation as PO.....that Group's feet would not have had a chance to touch the ground. They would have been booted so quickly into Kingdom come....it's not even funny!!
I would not have given that Group 1 Linden back either, as they were in breach of the Covenant from the moment they sold or sub-rented that 1st plot of land on my Sim to 3rd parties. If anything i would have given those same 3rd parties the option of carrying on living on their plots (preferred option) or maybe paid them money on a case by case basis...even though they did not enter that agreement with me personally and would not have been obliged to reimburse them because of that.

And before you accuse me of being of similar ilk, i can provide you a list of my tenants/residents names...and you can personally IM them to see what type of Landlord/EstateOwner I am. Don't be surprise if all the replies came back saying "He's the best landlord since slice bread"

On that note, seeing as most of your above blog is misrepresentative of the real truth....and in order to save some face and preserve some honour at least.....a public apology on this blog to Perfumed Odets would be in good order

PS I do agree with one statement you made here..Perfumed should focus on renting/selling all of her land on any given SIM before going out there in the open market in search of a another SIM to buy. I have been on her case about that several times!
