This is a community complaint, not just my own.

I took a few moments to find a few comments and threads in the main sl forums You seem to have missed in Your research...

this is an few entire threads of negative resident response to ad lots..I started to post comments but realized I would fill page after page after page if I did that so I'm just posting these full thread links.

I love this response by Raymond Figtree to a girl who is an adfarmer because it sums up my feelings so perfectly.

"I would rather close my account than make money the way she does. She
lowers the value of every single person's experience in SL and makes
our world and uglier place with her business practices. If that is
success, I want to be a failure"

I recently considered purchasing a
neighboring plot of land (about 10Km). However, what I discovered is
that there were 4 tiny parcels which were separately owned and not
purchasable. They were being used as "ad space" of course, despite our
sim being a relatively non-commercial one. This essentially ruins the
value of the entire sim, as the owners of these little ad spots can
pile them up with ugly ads, and hold the land hostage for anyone who
inquires about purchasing it.

I believe that the people who buy these little plots, do so to irritate
other landowners, so that their plots are bought and they make
money...it's done on purpose...it's pure extortion.

I just wish LL would do something about this..it makes me not want to own land anymore.

And here are jira proposals with the community asking Linden Lab to do something to stop adfarmers.

If You search Jira you can find proposal after proposal of people asking for help in this matter.

You really missed a lot while You were doing Your research on this matter. Honestly I could post links all damn day showing how the community feels about this business practace. It's not my complaint it's a complaint from the second life community in general. I can't stress that point enough.
