Second Life Reuters Wins Award

Oddly enough (couldn't resist), The 2007 Knight-Batten Awards for Innovation in Journalism has awarded the Reuters Second Life News Bureau $1,000 Wild Card Award.

As written by the judges:

"Reuters flies into the virtual world of Second Life with the professionalism of its real world practice of journalism."

For the record, I don't think I have seen Adam or Eric actually fly...

Congratulations to the Reuters team on winning that - and for keeping a pretty consistent profile in Second Life while doing some good journalism in a rather odd environment... though now, I imagine it is a little less odd. Still, some undercover reporting at Club Arsheba might be interesting. :-)

With about L$277,000 in prize money, maybe Eric and Adam will be able to buy some land in Second Life and relax a little. Poor fellows always seem to be working.
