Take A Break: Visit Inspire Space Park
Inspired by Dolmere Talamasca's writeup and some severe Ginko burnout, I decided to go check out Inspire Space Park at Shinda (27,217,218). It was well worth the trip - when you get there, make sure that you force midnight. That's the best way to see the place - and it really is worth seeing. A completely non-commercial place to hang out that has some great use of sculptie prims, textures, transparency, lighting and many other things. This is a very creative build - and some textures may take some time to load, so be patient.
Aside from the eye-candy, there are dance areas, a tai-chi area, and coolest of all are the orbital poses that float you around the park while hanging out. Avatar landings can be less than graceful when you dismount, but that can't be helped.
There is a donation jar there, and if you like the area - a small tip might help this place survive. I suspect it will be one of my hangouts.
While there, though, I got a chance to talk to some of the creators - and they allowed me a sneak peak into the unopened Inspire Dance Planet. The Dance Planet is still a work in progress, and is expected to be opened by the time Elvis has been returned by the aliens. Or when William Shatner learns to sing.
Applause for the well done build. One small step for avatars, and a nice stepping stone for Second Life. :-)
