Things have gone quiet on the merging the grids front, however let me get the rumour mill going here, it's going to happen. Indeed with relation to the forums it already seems to have happened. There are several pointers to suggest that teens are now conversing with adults on the forums:

This thread on the blogrums. Note Spinster Voom's comments that lead us to Jira requests that I'll label Exhibit 2A and Exhibit 2B. The first Jira request is entitled: "Blog/SLA/Forum: Profiles should show whether a resident is from the main or teen grid." The Jira issue is WEB-1518.

The second Jira request is entitled: "Blog/SLA/Forum: PMs between adults and teens need to be disabled." The Jira issue is WEB-1519.

This thread is where someone claiming to be from Teen Second Life joins the conversation: "As a current Teen Grid-er (Hey, Daniel!), I can confirm that the policy on Teen and Adult communication still stands - there should be none! There is absolutely no way possible to transfer items between the grids. There used to be a few glitches allowing us to do so, but as teens started finding them all, Linden Lab started fixing them all. You'll just have to wait until your son transfers if you wish to give him any items. Their policy is, in my opinion, totally ridiculous. They disallow adult and teen communication of any type but now they have decided to merge our forums thus enabling us to communicate with adults?!  Doesn't really make that much sense as far as I'm concerned. But hey, they don't really care what we think about their policy! "

Now nowhere in the forum migration did I see any mention of the forums being merged with the teen forums, so what exactly is going on here? Is the Teen SL-er telling porkies? I don't know, but as I said earlier the link from the Teen Second Life community page that links to forums does take you to the main forum.

Is this a temporary move whilst Linden Lab sort out the new blogrum software? They did say they were pushed for time, maybe this is the only way they could keep a forum alive for Teen Second Lifer's.

Do Linden Lab think there's no harm in doing this and that this is a sensible move? I hope not but if they start with the forums I wouldn't be surprised if a grid merger isn't far behind. I'm finding this all a tad uncomfortable to be honest, something is definitely wrong and an announcement should be forthcoming from Linden Lab. I know the forums are supposed to be PG, but when adults talk they sometimes get into adult conversation and a PG conversation about adult content really isn't the sort of conversation a teen should be getting involved in, nor is one about BDSM.

So if anyone knows exactly what's going on here, please share your findings.
