Over at Caledon they have some form of government, not sure exactly how it works as I don't really talk to Desmond, but I don't quite see Desmond in the evil dictator role somehow ;)

I think any form of governance has to be self governance and can only really work on a model like Desmond's, for example if I had a large number of islands I could setup some form of democracy, as it stands my word is law....hmm, I'm not an evil dictator either. However I wouldn't want to impose my law on other lands and vice versa, with the exception of course of Linden Law.

So there would be layers of laws, federal laws, local laws, national laws, this is rather deep.

With your own blog, write about what interests you, try and network with friends and those with similar interests, it can be arduous keeping up with everyone, have you tried twitter? That's useful for posting to friends you've made a new blog entry.
