SLEC Meeting Held. Purpose Unclear.
Submitted by Sando Haller on Wed, 12/05/2007 - 21:46.Tonight when I logged on, I got a notice about an open SLEC meeting that appeared to have started about 30 minutes prior. I had logged on for evening of entertainment, so I thought I would pop over and see what was going on. The SLEC had been very quiet for several weeks with the exception of Intlibber Brautigan’s post that everyone should boycott the WSE and all companies should delist from that exchange due to Luke’s seizure of Midas Common’s holdings.
Attendees were Intlibber with his usual entourage of loyal for the moment employees, a handful of CEO’s, and a few mutts such as myself. I wish I could report some high drama occurred or someone blew up a group of avatars. But alas nothing so dramatic occurred.
Traderjohn Souza held the meeting. He said he would put up a proposal to get a vote of confidence on whether he should continue as the head of SLEC. He talked of members being the backbone of the SLEC.
Cadence Juran questioned the makeup of the SLEC and suggested that the board be tossed out and started anew. Intlibber pontificated about how he has been a victim as always, and then surprisingly sat down when told he could not have the floor for the evening. Kadden Yue advised she had a “right” to be on the board and being president of ACE had no influence on her neutrality.
I think Traderjohn has good intentions. Unfortunately at this point, too much damage has been done for the current SLEC to continue in its’ current state with any level of credibility. Sadly, this is another one of Intlibber’s ideas that will die on the vine because his ego and need to try and control it have caused it to self destruct. Too bad. It was a good idea.

BNT: EMPIRE OR SIMPLY ON FIRE?
Submitted by Sando Haller on Wed, 12/05/2007 - 21:18.I have sat quiet the past couple of weeks stewing about BNT financial and their activities. Some of you may remember I posted about an extremely disturbing meeting there a few weeks back. Since them, the bank seemed to open up and run for a few days. Then without explanations the daily withdrawal limit went from 5k a day to 2k. That lasted a couple of days and then the ATM started spitting out withdrawal receipts and not paying avatar accounts. Intlibber said he would credit accounts. Cliff Eclipse, the bank head, said “When I know something, you will know.” Support tickets went unanswered.
Once again it appeared Mr. volatile, transparent, only good intentioned, Intlibber, was hiding the ball. How can one avatar suffer from such delusions of grandeur and perceive themselves so 180 degrees from reality. I have seen his rants on more occasions than I can laughably count. I tried to give it some time as he consistently said I didn’t understand the huge task he had getting the bank up and running. . Then to put a cherry on the sundae came his extortion attempt with Arbitrage Wise. It was just too much!
Capex has taken Intlibber’s rantings from the day Arbitrage bought the exchange. After enough of his constant trashing, they handed him his hat and showed him the door. He of course spun it as if he was the poor homeless victim. Did he think we weren’t watching his dog and pony show or irrational rants and disruptive behavior?
Now he is caught straight up trying to blackmail Arbitrage into actions. Where is your forthrightness, honesty, and transparency in this history?

Unexpected chat at BNT financial meeting reveals Hacking Incident
Submitted by Sando Haller on Tue, 10/30/2007 - 20:21.So on Sunday evening I went to a meeting for bank customers of BNT financial aka M2B bank. I was pretty much hearing the regular PR pitch from the Bank exec about hope for the future and the expected opening of their ATM’s. I should mention only 6 or 8 people came to the meeting which is a sad display of SL resident’s interest in banks at this point in time. In the middle of the PR fest there arose such a clatter, I sat up in my seat to see what was the matter. (I really need a shock expression for my avatar.) My o my. In the midst of a discussion between Cliff Eclipse and one of the bank customer, it came out that the bank had been hacked and suffered a loss of at least 200k lindens. What? All of the sudden the bank customer was saying BNTF had taken 1.2 million Lindens and the BNT execs were saying his fraud scheme had caused losses of 200k Lindens; and caused them to shut down the ATM’s and get a whole new banking system. And the reason for not disclosing this incident? “It was embarrassing.” There were other banking scandals and this would only add to the falling banks. It was bad for business.
This was all a very lengthy exchange and unfolded very strangely at the meeting. In the middle of the bank customer stating his side of the story he poofed into thin air! Kadden Yue president of ACE, finally acknowledged she had pulled the switch on him and banned him. Cliff and Kadden acknowledged the hack several weeks prior, and indicated it was a mutual decision at BNT not to disclose the theft. Isn’t Intlibber the voice of no business is trustworthy without complete transparency? What kind of twilight zone is this?
Repeated requests by the few people present for numbers on assets and outstanding loans were side stepped. We were told that the biggest outstanding loans for BNTF were with BNT. So the bank is really loaning themselves money. Interesting strategy.

Sando Haller Comes to Blog
Submitted by Sando Haller on Mon, 10/29/2007 - 19:03.Well, here I am. Blogging about Second Life. I pixelated about 10 months ago and boy have I seen a lot since then. I interestingly got into the financial markets. I have found there is never a lack of entertainment or drama in that arena. I began my investing career getting banned by Luke from the WSE. (He later unbanned me and even offered his frienship) Then I got involved with Mr. Carisma, Investor Allen. Talked with Sal Ackland on the side about how he was in no way the same person as Allen. Watched most of the companies I invested in go up in smoke. Witnessed banks fall like flies. But most importantly have been highly amused along the long expensive way. So now these lovely people have given me access to an easy place to share my amusements and the drama in second life. Hopefully there will be a person or two and/or an avatar or two who find my tales amusing, educational, and maybe occassionally controversial. Please feel free to IM me inworld or leave your comments here. Let the blogging begin!
