The Walk of Fame.................and who should be on it ???

I was just reading Konner's post and Sarah's comment about Prok being an internet Icon and I do think that Prokofy is an Icon in the Second Life® virtual world, anyways, it got me to thinking of
Who else is an Icon ?
And it has to be avatars known enough by their first name alone, just the first! If you have to explain who they are... well then for this post anyways, lets just say are not well known enough.

What do you do ???

Have you ever really needed to download something and your not sure if you should ? You know, something you really need and you want it right now! And also there's not much selection or options for the thing your looking for ?

I know I've done it and then do the usual,,,scan for virus' etc. Hmm seems ok ? Then you decide to open it up and then it starts to run .......hmm what if? ....should I stop it now??? Nah I'll wait a little longer......oh, wait...no... I haven't backed up everything....oh..oh...then you start feeling like you've just placed the future of your computer ever working again...on a spinning roulette wheel in in some sleazy casino in Gambling City ???

Or have you ever just waited and said to yourself...hmm.....I'm a little scared to try this one out on my PC....... I'll wait until I get to work or school and try it out there ? Oh.. Oh here we go again....something new....a little guilty feeling....hmm...I shouldn't be testing out this program,,,,it's not my PC.....poor little guinea pig ....

What do you do ?

Virtual World Elections?

Representative democracy is coming to EVE online which looks to be very interesting, I'm sure most of you have read about it already. I have never tried EVE online, nor know much about it, but this news has definitely got me ready to try out their free 14 day trial and learn more about it.

I have though been a member of the the Second Life® virtual world since late 2006 and thought a representative democracy in secondlife, should one ever be introduced, could be quite something.

It would sure be interesting to follow and watch virtual politics, such groundbreaking new territory! I'm still trying to wrap my head around it as it could be so complicated and with so many topics to cover! I wonder how it would work, would there be virtual elections every few months? How much power should the elected representatives have and should they be paid a real life salary? or percentages? Would there be vice president type positions as well? Could a decision board of some kind could also be instituted to settle disputes between residents? Taxes? I could go on and on but since there are so many questions and possibilities I will end with just those right now. I myself need to try and think them out as well and come up with my own thoughts and ideas about them. I'm just exploring with questions right now.

Don't you hate when people try to do under cover advertising???....I sure do...it's so obvious!!!...so...... I'm promoting my own new blog Right Here. It will have an occasional virtual world post but will mostly be about cool new sites I like, so it won't really be competing with this one here. I know most bloggers have an impossibly hard time starting up and most disappear but I've decided to give it a try. How long will I stick with it or how frequent will I post, I don't know.

Don't just stand there, let's get to it

change your pose there's nothing to it.

That's one thing I've really liked about Madonna, she's sure knows what works. What is it now 25 years now of re-inventing, self-fashioning herself ? Doesn't matter much whether you like her or not, she's been pretty much been making news, staying current and most of all interesting to follow. I always liked her and she's always known how to stay interesting. If you get too dull you loose them , too out there and, well that's sooo tired !!! What ever happened to Andrew Dice Clay, who cares anyway's right ?

It's time for a little re-inventing for me as well. I'm not sure I'm quite the right fit here anymore, nor this post, as I've wanted to branch out for quite a long time and write about other things I find interesting as well... { Read more }

Just looking at what does work...

What works with Facebook, Myspace...

1-RL social networking
2-It's extremely easy to use
3-Runs on everyone's PC
4-Does not have to be downloaded

I think their numbers show what works, if you want the big numbers in terms of members you need to also look at what works. It’s the simplest RL social networks that are having all the success. { Read more }

Une raison d'être

Graphita-tf8dbcdsI recently signed in “Inworld” after being completely out for a couple of months and my first realization was, I don’t have anyone to talk too or hear from. I was thinking it was like a list of my RL messenger contacts. I do have my friend’s list, but what I really wanted was to talk and hear from RL people. So no one from RL to talk too, hmm so what else can I do here?

Having a Siesta

Having a Siesta.
My hard drive had to be replaced a couple of weeks ago and since getting a new one now have decided for now anyways, not to install it. I read not long ago how Nobody Fugazi was happy about having backed up a lot of his files as he had gone through a similar experience. So remember everyone to back up those files because you just never know when your hard drive or whatever decides to do an 86 on your PC. I really hated seeing that Blue Screen when turning on the PC one day and learning that the hard drive was borked. { Read more }
